Christmas:

We knew it would be celebrated in two parts, one part would be early when Becca and Henry would open the presents Santa brought. The Longs would then head out to Grandma and Grandpa Long’s household in Olathe and they would celebrate again. The rest of us decided to wait for B.J., Jenn and Jack to arrive to really celebrate. We were still hoping they would arrive in time for Christmas. We would pick them up from the airport once they arrived, wait for the Longs to return and then we would have Part II Christmas.
Becca and Henry got up very early, checked their stockings, checked to see if Santa ate his cookies and checked to see if the reindeer ate their food…
Finally other people started getting up…
Finally late in the afternoon we were able to celebrate Beatty Christmas Part II. B.J., Jenn and Jack had traveled for more than 30 hours, slept in an airport, switched planes two times, and four airports later they finally arrived!
Let the celebration begin…
My Christmas…everyone is home safe and sound!
MERRY CHRISTMAS 2012!!!!!

Christmas Eve dinner was a little more low key this year. Since there were people with colds we used paper plates and throw away utensils to try and prevent the spread of germs. B.J. and Jenn were still trying to get to Kansas City but were keeping us updated on their progress. Miriam delayed her arrival, but Andrea and her children came to enjoy our traditional steak and shrimp Christmas Eve dinner.
And then we had to get down to the serious business of preparing for you know who…the big guy…the guy in the red suit…SANTA…
Becca and Henry got cookies and milk ready for Santa and they put out some food for the reindeer…
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care…
All hoping Santa would soon be there…
