Faith in God Sampler…great activity for Primary Activity Days

Faith in God girls activity sampler

Years ago I was in charge of the activities for the Primary age girls 8-12 years old following the program “Faith In God”. I decided to design a sampler and teach the girls a few basic embroidery stitches. The sampler I designed was divided into sections representing:

Faith in God (girl);

Learning and Living the Gospel (sun);

Serving Others (hearts);

Developing Talents (star); and

Preparing for Young Women

(tulip-complete with a small bee for Beehives).

I found a bee button for the girls to use on the sampler which made it a little easier. Tiny heart buttons could also be used.

Easter Activity for Family Home Evening, Young Women, Young Men or Primary.

A few years ago I created a game in which the Young Women (it could be used for Primary, Family Home Evening, anyone really) were asked to put the events of Easter in their proper chronological order. I had forgotten about it except I received an email requesting a copy of my game. It had been shared in another ward and it seemed the person was looking for a copy of it. I decided to share it here. I mounted each page on colored paper (and laminated it so it would last). Shuffle the pages and see if they can put the events of Easter in chronological order.

Making of Journals

One activity we did was making a journal for Henry and Becca. This was an activity I did for the achievement girls a few years ago and we came across the leftovers and decided to make a couple more.

Chapel Hill First Ward’s Primary Activity

Jen was in charge of her ward’s Quarterly Primary Activity, and it was a temple activity. The primary met at the door’s of the temple in Raleigh North Carolina where the temple President met and talked with the children for a few minutes. They then had a tour of the temple grounds. This was followed by an activity in the Stake Center adjacent to the temple. At the stake center, in the Primary room four different stations were set up for the children to rotate to each station in 10 minute intervals. The stations included:

2) Coloring pages for the creation. Download the coloring pages for the creation.
3) Genealogy pages, including a coloring page, a family tree chart to fill out and some pages to start a journal. Download the genealogy pages.
4) Coloring pages for the five parts of a testimony. They also made a testimony glove. Download the coloring pages for testimony and the parts of a testimony to make a testimony glove.The testimony glove was made with white stretch gloves, ordered in bulk from the internet. The parts of the testimony were represented by 1 inch button pins that were pinned to each finger.
