Easter 2012 April 8th

April 16, 2012 by shelley

Our Easter dinner traditions include carrot cake cooked in clay flower pots, decorated with coconut green “grass”, real flowers, bunny peeps, gummy worms and jelly beans:

Our traditional Easter dessert, flower pot filled with carrot cake decorated with green coconut grass, flowers, bunny peep and a gummy worm.

Another tradition is our chick cupcakes (made with lemon flavored cupcakes and frosting, a vanilla wafer for the chick’s head, orange slices cut in half for wings, peach gummy rings cut up for the beak, a little orange frosting and sprinkles and a dot of black icing for the eyes:

Cute chick cupcake for Easter.

Chick, chick here, chick, chick there..here a chick, there a chick, everywhere a chick chick.

Time for more cookies!

January 10, 2012 by shelley

As if we hadn’t had enough cookies, kringles, cinnamon rolls, chocolates, fudge, etc we decided we had to make some more cookies. No Bake cookies this time.  We also enjoyed a visit from ballerina Caitlin Cooney Mack, friend of Jen’s and the family.  We have loved her ever since she moved to Kansas City.

Playing in the Park + playing with cousins = a perfect day

January 10, 2012 by shelley

Wanting to avoid post Christmas let-downs today was a play day. First playing in the park and then playing with “cousins” (technically cousins once removed, Andrea’s kids; Zain, Aalia, and Nial) Henry and Becca had a fun day.

Entertaining on the Fourth of July

July 14, 2011 by shelley

Everyone including the dogs, Bear (black) and Izzie (white).

Pink Lemonade!

Miriam visited on the Fourth of July.

For years we have invited family and friends to come to our house and celebrate the Fourth with swimming and barbequing. This year I included a candy bar and made some new tablecloths to add to that old fashioned fourth of July feeling!
