The Salt Lake Temple is surrounded by spring blooms.

The Salt Lake Temple is surrounded by spring blooms.

Temple Square in the springtime! No words can describe the beauty of temple square and it’s glorious landscaping and colorful flowers.  But it took my breath away with all the blooming flowers; tulips, daffodils, and crocus’.  I was absolutely mesmerized by some of the tulips and daffodils…they had 5-6 blooms on one stem.  Each stem was like a bouquet of tulips or daffodils…gorgeous!!!  Say no more a picture is worth  a thousand words…

Springtime glory blooms around the Salt Lake City Temple!

We also visited the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, near the Salt Lake temple.

Petal Snow!!

April 7, 2012 by shelley

We have enjoyed a very early spring around here.  In addition to the beautiful spring blooms and blossoms I witnessed an event that was absolutely delightful.  I was driving down the street and on the sidewalk was a kid, probably about middle school age.  He was in his own world as he walked down the sidewalk.  He was obviously trying to look the “gansta” look.  The very baggy jeans that hung way below his hips, the wide stride to try and keep the pants up, the usual hoodie etc., etc.  He was walking by himself down the sidewalk definitely trying to walk the walk and strut the strut.   As he walked, he happened under a tree in complete bloom.  The tree was thick in flowers and had started dropping the blooms.  All around and underneath the tree the blooms had fallen so thick it was as if the ground was covered in snow.  And then this young man stopped walking.  As I watched him, it was as if he suddenly awoke from a long, deep sleep.  He slowly turned around in wonderment looking at the ground covered in solid flowers.  And then, this “tough” kid, with the “gansta” look, reached up and pulled a branch down, cupped his hand around a bloom and smelled the flower.  I broke into a smile both on my face and in my heart.  He had made my day.  My only regret, was that his mother who ever she is, had not been there to share that moment with me.

My little tree and its petal snow.....
